This is Operative IQ

At Operative IQ, we work hard and we have fun. We are committed to serving the First Response industries with excellent customer service and top-tier software solutions.

Our Story

Originally named Ambutrak, Operative IQ was built out of a need for a local Georgia-based EMS agency to track their medical supply inventory. Our President / CEO, EJ Aufderheide, was involved in the development from the very beginning.

Ambutrak grew quickly as agencies realized their need to move away from paper and onto an electronic solution. In 2013, we rebranded the product from Ambutrak to Operative IQ and began to innovate even more advanced solutions.

Since then, Operative IQ has continued to lead the market with new solutions for the First Response industries. We created Controlled Substance Tracking, RFID Solutions, and Operative IQ Front Line to address the need for faster and better answers for managing operational readiness.

EMS Technology Solutions was founded

In 2007, EMS Technology Solutions was introduced. We originally offered a product called Ambutrak which was designed to help a local EMS agency track their medical supply inventory and an electronic Check Sheet that facilitated electronic rig checks.

Introduction of Operative IQ

In January 2013, we re-introduced our software as Operative IQ to replace our original software, Ambutrak. Operative IQ is faster, sleeker, and more functional than Ambutrak.

Introduction of Narcotics Tracking Software

In 2014, we introduced our Narcotics Tracking Software. Designed to replace the paper log book, our digital Narcotics Tracking system uses cradle-to-grave chain of custody tracking verified by multiple types of security measures to ensure Controlled Substances are in the right hands.

EMS World Innovation Award for Controlled Substance Tracking Software

In 2014, we were presented an award from EMS World for our Controlled Substance tracking software. This module was created to replace paper log books and be a more secure solution for tracking controlled substances across agencies.

EMS World Innovation Award for IQ Genius Vehicle RFID System

In 2015, we received an innovation award from EMS World for our IQ Genius Vehicle RFID System. The IQ Genius Bar was our earliest version of today's RFID system. IQ Genius allowed users to track their inventory and assets on the vehicle with a fixed RFID reader.

The first User Conference

EMS World Innovation Award for the RFID Drug Safe

In 2017, we were granted an Innovation Award from EMS World for our RFID Drug Safe. We created the RFID Drug Safe to make it easier to audit narcotics safes. We still offer the RFID Drug Safe as a creative solution for automating audits.

EMS World Innovation Award for RFID Maintenance Automation

In 2020, we were given an Innovation Award from EMS World for our RFID Maintenance Automation system. RFID Maintenance Automation from Operative IQ allows users to automate tracking of maintenance on everyday items like uniforms or SCBA bottles.
